Sports Injury

“Sports injury” is a term that can be used to describe any injury sustained while exercising or performing some sort of athletic activity. Even a friendly game can result in a minor injury that can become aggravated and chronic if not treated.

There are a number of ways a physiotherapist can make use of non-operative treatments to care for a large number of injuries.

Some of the most common sport injuries are:

Rotator cuff injuries

Dislocation

Tennis elbow

Golfer’s elbow

Wrist sprains

ACL sprain, MCL sprain

Runners knee, IT Band Syndrome

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS)

Ankle sprain

An injury is the last thing anyone wants to experience while playing sports, but thankfully there are more and more ways that physiotherapists can help athletes get back in the game.
